Shimpli Stir Fry

Shimpli (clams) is one of the tastiest options from sea-food category. It can be made in variety of ways but this recipe of of shimpli sukka is my favorite. Shimpli sukka can be served as side dish or eaten with phulka roti/chapati, it tastes equally delicious.

  • Shimpli/clams – 6 cups
  • Onions chopped – 2-3
  • Green chilies – 4 to 5
  • Fresh coconut – 1cup
  • Ginger & coriander leaves paste – 2-3 tbsp.
  • Kokam – 4 to 5 petals.
  • Coriander powder – 1 1/2 tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
  • Salt
  • Oil

Heat oil in a pan and stir fry onions, prepared paste and green chilies. Add coconut and stir fry but make sure does not turns brown. Add the spices, kokam leaves and shimpli/clams. Add salt. Cover the pan and let it cook. Shimpli takes around 10-15 minutes to get cooked properly. There is no need to boil them. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve.
